Shows in Copacabana
The performances in Copacabana are part of an effort by the city council to promote “Celebration May”, an annual event that would bring, every first Saturday in May, a major international performance to the city.
The proposal gained strength after the success of the Madonnaheld in May 2024, which brought together around 1.6 million people in Copacabana and generated a significant impact on the local economy.
According to a study by the Municipal Secretariat for Urban and Economic Development (SMDUE), the singer’s show generated R$ 293.4 million, which boosted commerce, tourism and the city’s hotel network.
For 2025, in addition to Lady Gaganames like Beyonce, U2 and even a hologram of michael jackson were commented by the mayor.
