According to Noel Gallagher, despite one of his sons criticizing the lack of a certain technique, it is actually a blessing not to know how to ‘fry on the guitar’
Despite being a great guitarist, Noel Gallagher is not immune to criticism about the instrument – especially when it comes to his children. According to the iconic member of Oasisband he forms alongside his brother Liamhe was made fun of because he “can’t fry on the guitar.”
It’s worth remembering that playing the guitar is simply about playing the instrument at a high speed. In an interview with the channel YouTube from the Gibson, Gallagher talked about the differences between how studies worked in the past and today.
“I see kids playing instruments and they’re great. Nowadays there’s a lot more information available when you start out, about equipment, what it does and what you should do,” said the 57-year-old artist. “Tips for this, videos for that. They would be shocked at how things were in our time. I don’t know how we did it.”
Then, Noel Gallagher recalled how one of his sons (he did not reveal whether he was Donavan or Sonny) even took a dig at his father’s failure to fry the instrument: “My son says: ‘You can’t fry on the guitar.'”
And I think: ‘Thank God’. Because if I could play guitar like that, do you know what I’d be doing right now? Playing guitar like that!
