Singer began her career at a very young age and dilemmas were reflected in her personality throughout her adult life
Demi Lovato He began his career in music when he was around 10 or 11 years old. At 16, the singer and actress achieved success in the film Camp Rock (2008).
The achievement of a dream, right? It wasn’t 100% like that: this entire period before full maturity did not prove easy for Demi and your family. The star himself revealed that he was remorseful for treating some people badly during the time he was at the top.
Shortly before releasing the documentary Child Star (2024), which covers the history of his career from the beginning, Demi reflected on his personality during the period in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The artist admitted guilt for her behavior and believes she owes an apology to some people she interacted with.
Lovato he said:
I think about the people in the costume department on my TV show, because I went there in a bad mood all the time. And I worry about the guests who came or the other actors and people during Camp Rock 2. It’s easy to make excuses for this behavior because I was so young and in so much pain, but I really have remorse and that’s a guilt that stays with you forever.”
With current thinking, the singer does not look favorably on achieving fame at a young age. On the other hand, he made it clear that he was only commenting on his experience in this situation.
Demi stated:
I think I passed the limit of what I could handle emotionally and physically. And I didn’t realize that childhood stardom could be traumatic — and it’s not traumatic for everyone, but for me, it was.”

Educating a star
According to Demi Lovatoone of the problems with having someone so young in a prominent position concerns money. It is not easy for a child to be responsible for supporting the house financially at the same time. Her parents had this difficulty themselves.
Lovato explained:
Having a child as a breadwinner changes the family dynamic and it becomes: ‘how do I discipline this breadwinner?’. My parents tried to put my feet on the ground, but I was a selfish star child and thought I was on top of the world. I was like, ‘But I pay the bills,’ and what do you say in response to that?”
In light of all this, Demi says that, if you have children and they decide to pursue a musical career, this should not happen before they are 18 years old. And yet, care would be taken to prevent children from having the same problems they had in childhood.
I would say, ‘Let’s study music theory and prepare for the day you turn 18, it won’t happen before then. Not because I don’t believe in you or I don’t love you or I don’t want you to be happy, but because I want you to have a childhood, the childhood I didn’t have.”
Another possibility she points out is to think about a second plan for the children’s lives. The artist herself thought about abandoning the field at other times, but was not prepared to work in other areas.
