The proposal to Julies and Hevo84owner of emo hits “My Life is You” and “Dark Steps” — featured in the soap opera Workoutfrom the TV Globo — is unique in the Brazilian scene. The union of two seemingly contrasting styles results in a sound that combines the sentimental and loving depth of Emo with the lightness and charm of Reggae.

We wanted to bring all the emotion that Emo carries in its essence, but in a lighter way, with the pop touch characteristic of Reggae. The result was remarkable: guitars with drive and bends typical of Emo counterpoint the magical cadence of Reggae. It’s something you don’t see much around here. The partnership between Julies and Renne Fernandesvocalist of Hevo84is a reflection of 15 years of friendship celebrated with artistic collaboration.
