Special guests took the stage at the O2 Arena in London, England — and, no, Paul and Ringo didn’t perform “Now and Then” together
The last show of Paul McCartney in 2024 it featured two special appearances. Ringo Starreternal colleague of Beatlesand Ronnie Woodguitarist of Rolling Stonestook the stage at the O2 Arena, in London, last Thursday (19).
The collaboration had already occurred in 2018, when everyone played the classic together “Get Back”. This time, only Wood participated in the aforementioned song. In turn, Starr took the drumsticks for himself in “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter”.
Despite fans asking McCartney and Starr to play together for a long time, “Now and Then” live, it wasn’t this time. The song was performed in the English capital — as seen in Brazil last October — but only by Paul and his backing band, well before the partnerships.

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Ronnie Wood speak out
The three idols commented on the occasion through their social networks. Paul McCartney emphasized that he used, on Thursday night (19), his lost Höfner 500/1 bass — responsible for mobilizing a campaign to find it after 52 years. Macca had access to the instrument again in early 2024.
“Thank you, London! We’ve been all over South America and Europe and here we are back home for the last shows of the tour Got Back 2024. Making his first stage appearance in 50 years… my original bass! I hadn’t played it in 50 years, and besides, here’s a special guest, a Rolling Stone: Ronnie Wood. And another surprise for you — the mighty, the one and only, Ringo Starr!”

More succinctly, Ringo Starr stated: “I had a great time with my old friend. You know who. I wish you a Merry Christmas with peace and love, Ringo.”.

In turn, Ronnie Wood highlighted: “I just had so much fun playing ‘Get Back’ with my good friends Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at the O2 Arena last night. I hope everyone there had a great time!”.
