Gusttavo Lima was admitted to the Vila Nova Star hospital in Sao Paulo on Saturday night (12/21) after experiencing abdominal pain. The singer had to cancel his performance at the Villa Mix festival, held at the Neo Química Arena. The news was announced by presenter Lívia Andrade during the event, prompting boos from the audience.
The company responsible for the artist’s career, Balada Eventos, published an official note explaining what happened. “Balada Eventos, the company that manages the career of singer Gusttavo Lima, informs that the show scheduled for this Saturday, at the Villa Mix festival (in the capital of Sao Paulo), is canceled due to the artist’s health.”
According to the statement, the singer returned to Brazil exclusively for the event, but around 2pm he began experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort and needed medical attention. “At the end of the afternoon it was necessary to transport him to hospital for further treatment,” the operators explained.
State of health and medical report
The medical bulletin of the Vila Nova Star hospital, released by the singer’s consultants on social media, reports that he was admitted to the emergency room with abdominal pain. “The singer Gusttavo Lima was admitted to the emergency room of the Vila Nova Star hospital in Rede D’Or on Saturday night, with abdominal pain and should remain under observation during the night. The clinical condition is stable”, underlined the medical unit .
The compatriot’s team stated that he remains hospitalized for checks and treatment. “The singer remains hospitalized for checks and necessary treatment. We are sorry for what happened and we count on the understanding of the public”, concludes the statement.
Show program maintained
Despite the unexpected event, Gusttavo Lima’s advisor informed that the agenda of the next presentations remains unchanged. The singer has shows scheduled on December 28 and 29 in cities in the interior of São Paulo, as well as Fortaleza (CE) on December 30 and Aracaju (SE) on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
