Ney Latorraca dies at the age of 80 in Rio de Janeiro


The actor and director had been hospitalized since December 20 due to prostate cancer and died due to pulmonary sepsis

Actor and director, known for productions such as Vampire, Pirate television and many others, Ney Latorraca He died this Thursday morning (26th), aged 80. He had been hospitalized at the Clínica São Vicente, in Gávea, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, since December 20th, for treatment of prostate cancer and, according to information from the G1died due to pulmonary sepsis.

Latorraca he was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. At the time, the actor underwent surgery and had his prostate removed, but the cancer ended up returning in August of this year, already metastasizing. No information about the wake and burial has yet been revealed.

Ney Latorraca has had a career as an actor for around half a century and has worked on the country’s major television channels, such as SBT and Globo, as well as occupying theater and film stages throughout Brazil.
