The 71-year-old musician steps away from the stage and promises to return only in 2026
Vent about the hiatus and industry challenges
Singer and musician Guilherme Arantes took to social media to announce that he will be taking a career break in 2025. In a message to fans, the 71-year-old artist said the decision is not a final goodbye. “That’s right: 2025 is already partly designed ‘for’ me, and partly designed ‘by’ me. I won’t say ‘goodbye’ to anything, just see you soon,” he wrote.
In a reflective tone, the artist spoke about the challenges of his career and his personal moment. “Zero promises, zero commitments to continue this obligatory path called ‘career’. I kick the bucket, I rebel to survive. I can’t take it anymore, I’m a bizarre replicant, disengaged in a game in which I’ve lost the thread.”
Health problems and cancellations
Last Thursday (26/12), Guilherme Arantes underwent a catheterization with angioplasty, which led to the cancellation of the New Year’s Eve show in Santos and the one at Navio Roupa Nova, scheduled for January 3.
The musician, known for hits such as “Meu Mundo e Nada Mais” and “Cheia de Charme”, revealed that the difficult time has made him reevaluate his priorities. “I can’t take it anymore, I’m a bizarre replicant, lost in a game I’ve lost the thread of.”
Returning to the stage in 2026
Despite his temporary absence, Guilherme Arantes plans to return to the stage the following year. “I won’t say goodbye to anything, just see you soon,” he reiterated. He promised fans that he will continue to share his music and art for the foreseeable future, even as he reflects on the challenges and changes in the music scene.
