The new song arrives on BBC Radio 2
The song “Hot For You Baby”, recorded by Tina Turner 40 years ago, will be presented to the public for the first time this Thursday (23/1) on BBC Radio 2’s “Breakfast Show”. The song is part of the anniversary edition of “Private Dancer”, the album that marked one of the most appreciated phases of the singer’s career.
Rediscovered during compilation
The song was originally recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood during the “Private Dancer” sessions. The recording tape was recently found by the record company while they were working on remastering the original songs for the special re-release of the album.
Legacy of “Private Dancer”
Released in 1984, “Private Dancer” was the singer’s fifth solo album and established Tina Turner as one of pop rock’s greatest artists. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year in 1985 and included hits such as “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, “Better Be Good To Me” and the title track.
