“The Moment of Truth: Ella At The Coliseum” will be available in February

The legendary record label Verve Records, owned by Universal musical groupannounced last week the release of a new live album by the iconic Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996). It’s about The moment of truth: She at the Colosseumwhich will reach the international market on February 28 in multiple formats.

To warm up this launch, the Universal music has already released a song from this album: The moment of Truthwhich is already present on digital platforms.

All tracks contained in The moment of truth: Ella at the Colosseum crossed new mixing and mastering processes through yours analog master tapesresulting in the audio from high fidelitywhich is normally unprecedented for the recording of a live concert of that era.

The moment of truth: Ella at the Colosseum was recorded in Oakland Coliseum In June 30, 1967 and his phonographic material was recently discovered in the private tape collection Norman Granzfounder of Verve Records. The record has nine tracksmostly unheard before, and features Fitzgerald accompanied by members of Tthe Duke Ellington Orchestra at its peak.

The resulting recordings highlight the reputation of Ella Fitzgerald as a renowned live artist. To give you an idea, the The New York Times recognized the artist’s performance as “absolute perfection, personified”.
