Sertanejo Singer surprises the apartment among the first in the presidential research
According to Billboard, Gusttavo Lima can be used to conduct musical stops, but now his name is also among the main presidential candidates of Brazil. According to the latest genius survey/quaest, the country singer appears third in the electoral race until 2026, with 12% of the voting intentions.
In front of him there are only the former president Lula (30%) and the governor of San Paolo, Tarcísio de Freitas (13%).
The most curious fact is that in some scenarios in which Tarcisio does not compete, Gusttavo Lima occupies the second position. This not only demonstrates the strength of its popularity, but also raises a question: is Brazil ready for a president of the country?
The idea of a singer competing for a political office is not new in Brazil. We had Tiriric, Agnaldo Timóteo and Netinho de Paula who ventured into the polls. But a president coming directly from the world of music would be a revolution.
At the beginning of January, Gusttavo Lima had already reported his interest to enter politics on social networks. “My desire is the same as you: a country with more security, infrastructure and love in the heart. That all the parties come together to really make a government for the Brazilian people,” said the singer, a clarification that his intention goes Beyond a simple outburst.
And he didn’t stop there. A few days later, he strengthened his desire to change Brazil: “People need salts in life.” He said.
Gusttavo Lima: What is missing for your candidacy?
Despite the enthusiasm, there are some bureaucratic barriers for Gusttavo Lima to actually contest the presidential elections. According to the federal constitution, it is necessary to have Brazilian nationality, the minimum age of 35 years and the affiliation of the party. The singer is already 35 years old and was born Brazilian, but still needs to find a party that supports his candidacy.
He himself revealed that he is in negotiations to join a subtitle, since the party is aligned with his ideas. “I am an entrepreneur, I know how to rotate. Brazil needs less bureaucracy to work better,” he said in an interview with Metropolis.
The rise of popular figures in politics is not exclusive to Brazil. In the United States, Donald Trump left reality shows for the White House. In Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky passed from television comedy to the country’s leadership. The phenomenon of social networks has changed the electoral dynamics and allowing the entry of names which, in other times, would be unlikely.
It remains to be seen if Gusttavo Lima’s intention is real or only a movement to further strengthen its presence in popular imagination. But one thing is certain: if Brazil has already had a metal president with Collor and a president of the Pagoda with Lula, perhaps a country president is not so unthinkable.
