His son, Francisco Gil, who was present during the Carnival in the capital of the Bahie, revealed details on the state of the singer’s health and his next steps.
The musician, who returned to Rio de Janeiro to accompany the parades of the Samba schools, assured that Peta is surrounded by love and support in a crucial moment of his journey.
Francisco, who spoke to the magazine WhoHe stressed that the mother is strengthening after surgery to remove a tumor and prepare for the next treatment phase.
“He is fine, he will recover from the intervention and prepare for the next steps. We follow together, side by side, facing everything very hard,” said the 30 -year -old musician.
The singer, with colon cancer diagnosis at the beginning of 2023, was discharged on February 11, after two months of hospitalization. Since then, he has given priority to his well -being and has chosen to stay in Salvador to be close to his father, Gilberto Gil, and his nephew, Sol de Mary.
“For now, he will spend some time there. Things could change, but at least for the next ten days, he will remain in Salvador. He is with his father, with his family, and very happy for this,” said Francisco.
Gilberto Gil’s nephew also said that his daughter, Sol De Maria, remained in Salvador next to her grandmother, meeting a girl’s desire to be close to preta at this special moment. “Sol wanted to be with my mother, so I left her there. This year I decided not to work on Carnival just to have fun this time with them,” the musician shared.
