“Milton Bituca Nascimento” is a documentary directed by Flávia Moraes who made his debut in Brazilian theaters on March 20, 2025. The film follows Milton’s Farewell’s tour, one of the greatest legends of Brazilian music, known as “The Last Music Session”.
Filmed for two years, the documentary records the latest “Bituca” shows, an affectionate nickname of Milton and highlights the profound connection between the artist and his fans. In addition to the presentations, the work offers scenes from behind the scenes and testimonies of famous national and international artists, such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarta, Paul Simon and Quincy Jones, who reflect on the importance and universal impact of Milton’s music.
The film also explores Milton’s spiritual dimension and cultural influence, capturing exciting moments of his trajectory and the confusion he causes in his admirers. Before his official debut, “Milton Bituca Nascimento” was screened at the 28th film show in Tiradentes on January 26th.
However, documentary sins to want to condense many aspects of Milton’s life and work in 1h50. It is the impression that the format of the series would have been more appropriate. The scenes of the artist’s latest show, held at the Mineirão Stadium, in Belo Horizonte, also attend a small number.
Also so, “Milton Bituca Nascimento” is an exciting tribute to an icon whose work transcends the edges and generations, reaffirming its place as one of the greatest names in world music.
