K-Pop’s most successful female group is back. But a little different. BLACKPINK singers became video game characters in the music video scenes for the song “Ready for Love”.
The production of the clip is the result of a partnership between the group and the PUBG Mobile game. The artists also did a virtual show in the PUBG universe last week.
All created by computer graphics, the animated clip features the avatars of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa strolling through pastel-toned scenarios, including nature, pink clouds and otherworldly landscapes.
“Ready for Love” is BLACKPINK’s first single in nearly two years. Despite this, fragments of the song had already been recorded in the trailer for the 2020 documentary “Light Up the Sky”.
It is one of the most conventional recordings of the group, a generic pop that has as a differential a fragment of Lisa’s rap – BLACKPINK that showed greater potential for a solo career with the release of the single “Lalisa”, last year.
A more solid publication is expected for August, when the official start of the work for the next stage of the artists is expected.
