Music Byrne releases unpublished single and prepares album with big names; listen

The new album of the former Talking Heads will be released in September and brings collaborations with Hayley Williams and St. Vincent. Listen to the single ‘Everybody Laughs’

After six years away from the studios, David Byrne It’s back with a new solo album. Entitled Who is the sky?the album will be released on September 5 by Matador Records and has participation of names such as Hayley Williams (Paramore), St. Vincent, Tom Skinner (The Smile) and Mauro Refosco. The production is due to Kid Harpoonwinner of Grammy by work with Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus.

The kick -off of the new phase came with the release of the single “Everybody Laughs”which reached the streaming platforms accompanied by an official music video directed by the multimedia artist Gabriel Barcia-Colombo. The track brings Byrne reflecting on everyday life and the human condition, with a dancing groove and apotheotic final alongside St. Vincent.

“Everyone lives, dies, laughs, cries, sleeps and looks at the ceiling,” says Byrne. “Music can do this, contain opposites at the same time.”

Orchestra, grooves and weight collaborations

The twelve ranges of Who is the sky? have arrangements signed by Ghost train orchestraNew York collective that mixes strings, blows, metals and percussion. The idea came after Byrne watch an orchestra performance in honor of the composer Moonandog.

The art of Who is the sky? was created by the artist Shira Inbar in partnership with the Belgian designer Tom van der Borght.
