Three decades, lots of smoke and good farewell
The planet’s hemp is ready to give its last swallow on the stage of Brazil. After more than 30 years they have burned the music scene with attitude, irreverence and a sound mix ranging from rap to psychedelic rock, the group led by Marcelo D2 announced his farewell tour.
Baptized with the irony that only the band has, “The Last Ponta” begins in September and promises to close with Golden Key on this journey that marked the generations.
Farewell begins in Salvador and crosses nine other capitals: Recife, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Goiânia, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, ending the tour in November in Allianz Parque, in San Paolo.
Tickets are starting to be sold on Wednesday (18), at noon, on Eventim platforms and, for the show in the capital Bahian, also from Sympla. Already at physical tickets, the start time is at 13 hours.
In a press release, Marcelo D2 went directly to the point:
“We have done a good job in these 30 years of career, but everything has an end. The planet hemp has a very strong energy that we don’t want to go out.” And it is right: a few Brazilian bands managed to collect so many people, noise and strong ideas in a powerful mixture like that of the planet.
From seven spectators to Allianz: a story of resistance
If today the group says goodbye that crowds the stadiums, it is good to remember that the beginning was much more modest. “Our first show was for seven people,” recalls D2, among laughter. And perhaps there is the secret of the band’s lasting success: they have never been only musicians, they have always been the spokesperson for a generation that does not conform, question, sings and protests.
The planet’s hemp was never limited to rhymes or riffs. They were an active voice in the struggle for the legalization of marijuana and faced the open chest with sharp letters and incendiary shows. During their career, they have faced censorship, arrests, changes in training and even gaps, but have never lost relevance or provocative tone.
Today, the training brings together Marcelo D2, Bnegão, Formigão, Nobrru, Pedro Garcia and Daniel Ganjaman, a team of the maximum weights that firmly keeps the inheritance to the last agreement.
Planet Hemp: a farewell that is another invitation to the celebration
“The last suggestion” is far from being a lament. It is celebration. It is gratitude. It is a meeting with the fans who made the soundtrack of the band of protests, rollers and personal revolutions. Brazil phases will testify not only the end of an era, but the consecration of a name that has modeled national sound and counterculture.
If the future of the planet Hemp is turning to the end, the impact they have left on the present and the past of Brazilian music will continue to reverberate. They could delete the end, but the grill will remain for a long time.
