Since Trump took over the presidency, more than 500 Dominican immigrants have been arrested on the island
Bad Bunny may have witnessed an operation of the Ice (United States Immigration and Customs Service) and you can say that he didn’t like what he saw. This Tuesday, the Porto-Rican star shared a video that seems to show agents of the Ice holding a group of people on the streets.

The operations of the Ice They have affected several areas of the United States with a large concentration of immigrants, such as Los Angeles. However, in Puerto Rico, about 500 Dominican immigrants have been arrested in San Juan since Donald Trump assumed the presidency, in January, according to the NPR. Many of these arrests occurred at Barrio Obrero, considered the heart of the Dominican community in San Juan.
According to data from the own Ice75% of detainees are of domican origin, and less than 80 of the 500 arrested people have some kind of criminal record.
Bad Bunny now joins a long list of artists who have been expressing their indignation and frustration with the operations of the Ice that affect immigrants across the country. Katy Perry, Billie Joe Armstrong (from Green Day), Ivan Cornejo and Finne are among the musicians who have spoken out against the sending of agents and the actions of the Ice promoted by the government.
In recent weeks, protests have taken over various parts of the country as opposed to the tactics adopted by the federal government to repress immigrant communities.
At the end of October, Bad Bunny declared support for the campaign Kamala Harris to the presidency, endorsing his proposal for a “economy of opportunities” to the residents of the island.
