Legendary Heavy Metal band ends their activities in a great way, as well as the solo career of his giant vocalist
THE Black Sabbath It came to an end. Again. This time, it seems, it is for real, since time is relentless.
The band had already performed a farewell tour, The endcompleted in February 2017. However, the situation left a bitter taste in the mouth, since the drummer Bill Ward did not participate. Ozzy Osbourne (voice), Tony Iommi (guitar) and Geezer Butler (low) had Tommy Clubeundeniably competent, but it is not Ward.
In interviews in recent years, the four original members have expressed interest in performing at least one final show. At the time, Osbourne and Butler no longer communicate due to confusion between their wives. For a while, Ward remained away from the trio because of the exclusion of his presence in the ultimate activities of the group. The mood seemed not so good.
Fortunately, everything was solved. The public was able to say goodbye to heavy metal pioneers in a megafestival, Back to the beginningheld this Saturday, 5, at Villa Park Stadium, in the English city of Birmingham. A much fairer farewell than that performed in 2017, even considering health problems – Parkinson and injuries caused by a serious domestic fall – which have now prevented Ozzy from offering a full set as he wanted.

It was in Birmingham, it should be said that Tony Iommi and Bill Ward started the Black Sabbath, which started as a rock blues project, called Polka tulk blues band. The pair called Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osbourne to the band, who changed his name to Earth.
The idea was almost no way. Tony – soon he, who was the only constant member of Black Sabbath in almost 50 years – abandoned training to integrate the Jethro Tull. Thankfully the partnership with Ian Anderson It lasted only two months.
In 1969, Earth became Black Sabbath and recorded his first namesake album, made available on Friday 13 of the following year. You can say that before this album, the heavy metal existed. Groups like Cream, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly and Blue Cheer They practiced a heavy and intense sound, as the genre in question asks. But it was Sabbath who established some of the main rules for the founding of one of the most venerated musical styles in the world.

In 55 years, 19 studio albums have been released, with over 70 million copies sold worldwide – even without mainstream media support and expert critics. Sabbath, most of the time, was an ugly duckling. Internally, he was not helped: he was managed by dubious people, which disrupted his growth in commercial terms. But survived. Sounds as relevant today as there at the beginning.
More important than numbers and figures, however, is the legacy. Musically, besides pioneering in a musical style, Black Sabbath influenced countless bands that came shortly after. Of Judas Priest the Metallicfrom Iron Maiden the Slipknotfrom the names that emerged in the 1970s to groups that have been born in recent years, whether from any subgenre of metal or heavier rock segments. It is inseparable.
Ozzy Osbourne, in a solo career, was not only able to expand this legacy, but finally commercial recognition. It sold even more than Sabbath: 100 million copies worldwide. He eventually dragged his former band with him, as the interest in the previous work was renewed.

“Alone”, Madman made history by reinventing herself several times and giving spotlight to some of the most talented musicians in Heavy Metal. The biggest of them has not been with us since 1982: Randy Rhoadstragically killed guitarist in a plane crash. He, Jake E. Lee, Zakk Wylde And so many other musicians who worked with Osbourne must also be revered.
On the Sabbath side, other figures that were part of this story will be remembered. Geoff Nicholls, Ronnie James Dio, Tony Martin, Vinny Appice, Ian Gillan, Cozy Powell And so many others must also be revered.
Such reverence provides not only manifesting appreciation for and thanks to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne Solo. In particular, he listens to the work they both left. And of course, following everyone’s next projects. No one from the four original members of Sabbath died. Osbourne and Iommi have already pointed out that they want to continue recording. Ward even says he has two ready albums.
Life continues – and fortunately it continues with amazing works left by Sabbath and Osbourne Solo.
