Music Show most harmed by the farewell of Black Sabbath and Ozzy

Before main attractions present themselves, several guests have taken the stage – and the online display of one of them was marked by problems

THE Alice in Chains was in charge of one of the most anticipated shows in the Back to the beginningfestival in England that marks the farewells of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. The band has an intimate relationship with the honorees: both the guitarist Jerry Cantrell as the bassist Mike Inez have already played with Osbourne and all members admit strong influence from Sabbath in his work, with the right to have played “Sweet Leaf” in shows in the 1990s.

The American group fans were also expecting an interesting detail: that would be their first performance in over a year. The tour that would be months ago was canceled due to a health problem not specified by the drummer Sean Kinneynow fully recovered.

For those who follow the transmission of Back to the beginningHowever, the experience was quite impaired. Technical Failures of distinct origins negatively affected display in a digital environment.

Like several other attractions, Alice in Chains had a limited repertoire of just three songs, with approximately 15 minutes long. Chose to play two of their biggest hits – “Man in the Box” and “Willd?” – And a cover of Black Sabbath – “Fairies Wear Boots”track of the acclaimed album Paranoid (1970).

The whole first song was harmed by absence of volume in the Jerry Cantrell microphone, which assumes co-laws William Duvallmain singer. His guitar sounded perfectly well, but wasn’t it possible to hear him chant verses like “Can You Sew Them Shut?” and “Deny Your Maker” in the chorus of “Man in the Box”as well as taking back vocals.

The problem was solved Only after the first chorus of the second track, “Willd?”. The entire inaugural stanza of music was “silence” for the audience that accompanies home – only Duvall’s reduced vocal insertions were heard.

During “Fairies Wear Boots”another technical dilemma: around the first minute, The sound of the stream has disappeared. It was “mute”. Distance fans could only see the images. The situation lasted about two minutes. A pity, because the rest of the online display has been running without complications and with great audiovisual quality.

The festival Back to the beginning It has online transmission on the backtothebeginning.com website. To access, you must pay a ticket of $ 82.25 + eventual fees. Stream is delayed in two hours compared to what happens on site.
