The musician, also known for the long -standing work with Soundgarden, was part of Eddie Vedder and Company’s band since 1998
After 27 years, Matt Cameron is no longer the be drummer of Perle. The decision was announced by the musician himself in publication on social networks.
Cameron, now 62, joined the group of Eddie Vedder (Voice), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (guitar) and Mike McCready (guitar) in 1998. At the time, the band that was part, Soundgarden, had crumbled. His future partners had lost Jack Irons, a member since 1994.
In all, Matt recorded seven albums with Pearl Jam. They are: Binararal (2000), Riot Act (2002), Pearl Jam (2006), Backspacer (2009), Lightning Bolt (2013), Gigaton (2020) and Dark Matter (2024).
In a declaration on networks, Matt informs only his departure and celebrates the results with his colleagues. No reason is presented for breakage.
Initially, he says:
“After 27 fantastic years, I took my latest steps to the Montante of the Battery of the Great Pearl Jam. A lot of love and respect for Jeff, and, Mike and Stone for inviting me to the band in 1998 and for giving me the opportunity of a life, full of friendships, artistic vocation, challenges and laughter.”
So complements:
“I will always be grateful to the team and fans from all over the world. It was an extraordinary journey. There is something else to come. Thanks to everyone at the bottom of my heart.”

Matt Cameron’s replacement is not yet known. Pearl Jam has only a scheduled show: September 26 at the Ohana Festival in the United States.
