THE Placebo will officially release the documentary This Search For Meningwhich will be relaunched on September 12 in a deluxe edition with four albums. The project includes the eponymous movie in Blu-ray and DVD, the full show This is what you wanted – live in mexico city on two CDs, and an expanded version of the album NEVER LET ME GOwith bonus lanes such as the cover of “Shout”from Tears for Fears.

Directed by the award -winning Scottish filmmaker Oscar Sansomthe documentary was limited in theaters last year and now gains wider distribution with exclusive extras. The film deepens itself in the band’s lyrical, emotional and visual trajectory, addressing recurring subjects of discography and revealing behind the scenes of the personal lives of members over three decades.

More than a retrospective, the feature dives into the creative universe of the duo Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal and includes testimonials from names like Shirley Manson (Grubby), Robbie Williams, Yungblud, Rebecca Lucy Taylor (SELF ESTAMEM), Joe Talbot (Idles), besides the actor Benedict Cumberbatch and the contemporary artist STUART SEMPLE. There are also rare images of the band and records of collaboration with David Bowiecentral figure in the history and identity of the Placebo.
