Guitarist has already made it clear that only the band retired and that he still has some plans for the sequence of his career
Ozzy Osbourne retired, the Black Sabbathidem, but Tony Iommino. The guitarist made it clear that the festival Back to the beginningon July 5, marked the band’s farewell, not his as a musician.
The great event held in Birminghamin EnglandIommi updated his next steps. He reiterated his desire to complete a solo album, the first in 20 years – Fused (2005) was the last, at least so far.
In an interview with Eddie Trunk (via Louder and Blabberouth), the 77 -year -old guitarist said:
“I was doing my own album until Back to the beginning It appeared, and then, of course, I had to stop and focus on the preparation for Sabbath’s presentation. “
He added:
“But I’ll keep trying, from next week, finish what I started with this album. So, who knows what I am going to do after? It’s great, really, because if something appears, I do, just if I want to. So it’s a good thing.”

And the new vocalist (s) of Tony Iommi?
To realize the new studio album, Tony Iommi will need a singer. Or would they be vocalists in the plural? Iommi, her soil debut effort, featured several guests to sing, among them Henry Rollins, Dave Grohl, Billy Corgan and Ozzy himself, now retired.
On this aspect, Iommi revealed:
“At the moment, I have only one singer, but initially I thought of several singers. It started as: ‘It will be an instrumental album’, and evolved to: ‘I have some instrumental things’, but then I thought, ‘Ah, I want to try with a vocalist.’ And that’s what I have done.”
What he had already said about
Other details of the album, such as number of tracks, name and release date have not yet been revealed. Nor the direction, as Iommi said at the end of 2024 Guitar world (via Igor Miranda website).
At the time, he just explained:
“There is definitely something coming. When it will come out, I don’t know (laughs). The tracks I’m working now bring a mix of styles, from acoustic to heavy. There’s a variety. I recorded some ideas. Many of them were made at home. The next thing we will do is put a battery in the songs. Things are walking.”
