Tony McCarroll, from the original English band, recalls how he was sent away after hitting the guitarist/vocalist
Tony McCarrollfirst drummer of OasisHe helped set up the band and was part of the original lineup, but only for four years (1991-1995). After a fight that he himself classifies as “stupid”, the resignation came.
In a recent interview with the newspaper The sun (via Music Radar), the musician revealed that the reason for his departure was a bullshit with the guitarist and vocalist Noel Gallagher.
According to McCarroll, it all happened because he once did a noise fighting with a woman at dawn in a hotel room. The situation prevented Noel from sleeping.

The next day, the “boss” went to take satisfaction. Tony recalls the episode:
“I was by Noel’s hotel room, which I didn’t know. I had a discussion with a girl who was with me, and the next day we were doing the sound passage. I had just finished my part, and he turned and, in front of everyone, said, ‘If you keep me up again, you’ll be fired, man.’
Instead of being quiet and letting the mood calm down, the drummer hit Noel:
“Probably the stupid thing I’ve ever done in my life, but I stared at him and said, ‘You won’t talk to me like this again, p#rra, no chance.’ It was a matter of weeks later and I received P45 (resignation letter).”
“I was wrong, but I don’t regret it”
Looking back, Tony McCarroll admits that he made a mistake because he imagined the disagreement would go so far. However, he does not give his arm to the point of saying regretful:
“What kind of man I would be if I didn’t do it? Everyone was under threat every day, but it was usually just bravata. I never imagined it was as serious as losing my job in the band.”
