Trich champion of the Latin Grammy takes samba wheel to spare porch in SP and has Caetano Veloso confirmed at the opening carioca
THE Samba do Pretinho da Serrinha Expands to São Paulo for the first time in 2025, marking the growth of the most famous samba wheel in Rio de Janeiro. The São Paulo season takes place on the porch opened from October 30, with Jota.pê, Seu Jorge and Rogério Flausino already confirmed on the lineup.
In Rio, the event wins a new home on the balcony of Vivo Rio from November 13, with Caetano Veloso confirmed at the opening of the season. The change marks the end of the partnership with Arena Jockey, where samba took place weekly since 2022, attracting about 3,000 people every Thursday during the summer of 2024.
Pretinho da Serrinhacreator and host of the event since 2021, accumulates three Latin Grammy consecutive in the category Best samba/pagoda album for music production work in 2018, 2023 and 2024. The musician produced albums as Love and Music of Maria Rita, Black opera of Martinho da Vila and Xande sings Caetano of Pillars.
The wheel was born at Copacabana beach in 2021 and became a phenomenon in the debut, bringing together 120,000 people. Over the years, it has received guests as Marisa Monte, Martinho da Vila and Milton Nascimentoconsolidated as one of the main musical events of Rio de Janeiro.
Ticket sales start on August 21 with Ticket 360, with 10% off for Banco do Brasil customers. From August 18, bank account holders have early access with a 25% discount for shows in both cities.
Black Emphasizes the importance of public participation to maintain the energy of samba: “Samba needs this energy and this strength, the game is never winning, we are always going up another step. It will be of the best quality, I’m sure it will be very, very good.”
