Organization of the Paulistano Festival says that presentation will cease to occur due to the problem with a musician; BAND ALEGA SITUATION WITH OTHER
As reported, the Sex pistols will no longer perform in The Town 2025. The organization of the event confirmed the departure of the English band a few days before its presentation, on Sunday, 7, during the so -called “Rock Day” of the program.
Instead, enter the Bad Religion. The American hardcore/pop punk band has a long history of visits to Brazil – twelve in total, with the last in December 2023.
The announcement, however, was marked by a curious contradiction. The versions presented by organizers and musicians differ in one aspect.
According to those responsible for the festival, the sex pistols will not be able to present themselves because “From the singer’s state of health Frank Carter“since last year occupying the vacancy of Johnny Rotten / John Lydon. By email, the event’s advisory informs that “Vocalist Frank Carter, on medical recommendation, will not be able to travel to Brazil”.

However, the band itself claims that a problem occurred with the guitarist and original member Steve Jonesnot with Carter. According to a statement published by the group, Jones suffered a wrist fracture.
All shows scheduled for North and South America were suspended and the idea is to reschedule the dates next year. In the case of The Town, it would be impossible because it is a festival, but it may be that they return to Brazil under other circumstances.

Through the nets, Bad Religion celebrated the entrance to the lineup. They claim:
“Sao Paulo! We are very happy to join the Lineup of The Town Festival! We are replacing our friends Sex Pistols. Green Day and Iggy Pop will also be there on September 7th. Thetown.com.br”

The Town takes place on September 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 at the Interlagos racetrack in Sao Paulo. There are still tickets for sale on the Ticketmaster website.
