“He meant a lot to many people … The point in common is that he was loved,” says Jack about the “demonstration of love” and support after his father’s death.
Jack Osbourne revealed how he learned of the death of Ozzy Osbourne And he reported his last week with his father in the first episode of his podcast since the death of the Heavy Metal legend on July 22.
“My head is really busy taking care of family and my children and trying to find a way to digest what has just happened”Jack said after a six -week hiatus in his podcast.
Jack reflected for the first time about his last week with his father, after Ozzy’s farewell show, Back to the beginningin England. “After my father’s show at Birmingham, I stayed there, spent a week with family at home with my children. It was a really amazing week”Jack said, adding that his family should have spent vacation in Portugal after the show, but his children contracted a gastroenteritis, which forced them to cancel their trip and lodge at Ozzy and Sharon’s house.
“My father was in a good mood. Every day he opened the newspaper and saw different reviews and stories from the Back to The Beginning show, and it was great. It was a lot of fun, I kind of look back now, and I was never so grateful for my children to have gastroenteritis as I am today.”
After that week in Birmingham, Jack returned to Los Angeles, where – after a week back – he learned of his father’s death.
“I woke up in Los Angeles with a knock on the door around 3:45 am. Someone who works for my family 30 years ago was knocking on my door. When I looked out the window and saw that it was him, I knew something bad had happened. And I was informed that my father had died.”

Jack Osbourne’s reaction
An emotional jack added about his immediate reaction:
“Just sadness and pain … so many thoughts .. but I thought: he’s not suffering anymore. And that’s something. I wanted him to be here, I wanted him to be with us, but he was going through a difficult time. I think people saw it on the show. But no one expected it to happen so fast. It wasn’t something that was on our radar.”
However, Jack said later that he was grateful for the moment of Ozzy’s death, as soon as the Back to The Beginning show: “There is almost a perfection in this. He managed to say goodbye in such a deep way.”
No eutanasia
Jack also dismissed the “categorically false” rumors that Ozzy planned to “euthanize” after the farewell show.
“He was so happy to have done the show and was happy to move on to the next phase of his life. He wanted to spend more time in England, wanted to spend more time with my children, I wanted to spend more time exploring different things as much as I could.”
Jack added:
“My father was a special guy. He meant a lot to many people … the common point is that he was loved. He was very loved. Many people will miss him.”
Finally, he paraphrased a quote from Keanu Reeves About death life, from an interview with Stephen Colbert, who repercussions especially in Jack and which he shared at Ozzy’s funeral:
“I don’t know what happens when you die, but I know the people who love you miss you more.”
