Known worldwide as Lorraine Warren in the franchise Evil invocation, Vera Farmiga (Summoning Evil: The Last Ritual) also has another passion beyond acting: music. The actress is the band vocalist The Yagasproject that mixes rock with folk influences and an experimental footprint.

Formed in 2023, the band has a solid formation: besides Farmiga In vocals, participate RENN HAWKEY (keyboards)-Husband of the actress and former member of the industrial band Deadsy -, Jason Bowman on the battery, Mark Visconti on the guitar and Mike Davis in the bass. The formation united in Rock Academy in Woodstock, discovering immediate musical affinity.

About The Yagas

Name The Yagas It is a reference to the enigmatic figure of Slavic folklore, Drool yagasymbol of mystery and inner transformation – a perfect inspiration for the band’s dark and emotional sound.

The first single, “The Crying Room”premiered on October 25, 2024, with music video set in the north of New York and special participation of Eugene Hützvocalist of Gogol Bordello. The song, described by Farmiga as a way to “clean the heart through crying”, also has a tone of honor to the Ukrainian people, reinforcing their connection with their family roots.

In February 2025, the second single, “She’s Walking Down”It was released with a music video directed by Farmiga herself, portraying a sequence of unsettling dreams inspired by personal trauma.

Debut album: Midnight Minuet

The debut album, Midnight Minuetproduced by Renn Hawkey, was released on April 25, 2025. Merging Alt-Rock, Industrial Metal and Gothic atmospheres, the album was mixed by the Grammy nominee Brian Virtue and mastered by the Grammy winner Emily Lazar.

The single “Life of a Widow”released shortly before the album, was described by Farmiga as a deep lament journey: an intense composition inspired by Hawkey’s recovery after a column surgery.
