Single is a collaboration between the singer and Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown
The singer Marisa Monte released a new song on the night of this Thursday the 9th. Your wave was made available on digital platforms just over a week before the debut of the singer’s new tour, Phonetics (see details below).
Your wave is a composition by Marisa Monte with her tribalistic and more constant partners, Arnaldo Antunes AND Carlinhos Brown – and it’s another one about love.
The production is signed by the Argentine musician and producer Gustavo Santaolalla, winner of two Oscars, both for best original soundtrack, for The Secrets of Brockback Mountain (2005) e Babel (2006). Santaolalla had already worked with Marisa previously, when he played guitar on the song Luckily.
In material distributed to the press, the singer talked about how Your wave emerged. “He was born facing the sea, last year, in the south of Bahia. On this tour of PhoneticsI wanted to have something new and I chose this song to fulfill my old wish of working with my friend Gustavo Santaolalla once again.”
The new song, in fact, already brings with it what must be the sound of the Phonica tour, given that it sees the participation of the strings of the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, directed by maestro Péter Illeényi.
The tour Phonica – Marisa Monte & Orchestra live will debut in Belo Horizonte, on 10/18, with a performance also on the 19th. It will feature Marisa’s songs with a symphonic treatment. The arrangements will be by the Brazilian maestro André Bachur.
In a video posted on social media, Marisa said that the tour is also a “revisit of her career”. “I’m very happy to be able to expand my repertoire,” said the singer.
Phonica – Marisa Monte & Orchestra liveit will also pass through Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Brasilia and Porto Alegre. Tickets are on sale at Tickets for fun.
