Lollapalooza 2018: Metronomy pleases with displays of affection and sharp electropop
Metronomy, an English electronic pop music band, played this Sunday afternoon, 25th, on the Onix stage, from Lollapalooza. The quartet made the audience dance with a warm performance and several displays of affection between the members and the audience. This is the band’s third tour of Brazil and, at all times, they were just compliments and declarations. There was “We love you!” and “São Paulo is one of the most beautiful cities in the world”, for example. There was even a “good luck” wish for us at the next World Cup.
With a beat reminiscent of Daft Punk, a declared influence of Joe Mount, the band’s leader, the music and energy were contagious to anyone who was watching, both fans and people already schooled in the band’s sound, and the curious who were taken to Lolla. by other attractions, but felt the urge to explore the other stages.
Metronomy started with the hit “The Skool”, and changed only to dance tracks, one after the other, with the audience following. At one point, towards the end of the show, drummer Anna Prior also ended up singing on “Everything Goes My Way”.
