Juliette joins YouTube and the UN in a solidarity live of “Caminho”; know more!

The live was recorded at the debut show of Tourê Caminho and will air this Wednesday, 20

The YouTube Music project in partnership with Rede Brasil of the UN Global Compact will air on Wednesday, 20th, and this time, the solidarity live will have Juliette! The performance was recorded on the singer’s first tour “Caminho” and supports refugee women assisted by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Brazil.

The Lives Solidárias initiative, launched by YouTube Music last year, aims to make the population aware of the impacts of the pandemic and the UN 2030 Agenda in four spheres – Gender Equality, Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture, Health and Welfare, and Quality Education – aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The benefited project is “Empowering Refugees”, a joint initiative of the UN Refugee Agency, Rede Brasil do Compacto Global and UN Women aimed at training the employability of women in refugee situations in Brazil, with the objective of protecting and offering assistance to displaced and stateless women arriving in the country.

The initiative is expected to support more than a thousand families who have recently arrived in the country with access to documentation, food, housing, transportation, clothing and more. Empowering not only impacts SDG 5, but cuts across access to quality education (SDG 4), poverty eradication (SDG 1), reduction of inequalities (SDG 10). Ending Solidarity Lives with Juliette and Empowering Refugees is the realization of an impactful journey.

“It is very special to bring my first show to all people through YouTube and to foster an initiative that builds a world with less gender inequality. The Caminho tour is already starting to make a lot of sense for me and I hope it does for everyone who accompanies me. Thank you very much Solidarity Lives! An honor to be a part of it”.says the singer.

“Financial independence is one of the main steps towards the full integration of refugees in a new country. That is why initiatives such as ‘Empowering Refugees’ are so important, as they enable and allow refugee women to be protagonists of their own stories. Donations to UNHCR are essential for us to be able to support refugees in their new journeys, from humanitarian emergencies to full integration into the host country”highlights Samantha Federici, UNHCR’s head of private sector partnership.

Finally, the live will take place on Juliette’s official YouTube channel at 8 pm (Brasilia time).
