The Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) has announced an all-new ballet show, which will feature iconic Black Sabbath songs as the soundtrack.
One of the most famous ballet schools in the world, the Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB), in the United Kingdom, announced an all-new ballet show, which will feature iconic songs fromblack Sabbath as a soundtrack. The news was revealed by the dance institution through social networks this Wednesday, 8.
Entitled Black Sabbath: The Balletthe show will feature eight classic songs by the heavy metal band adapted for the stage as “Paranoid”, “Iron Man”, “War Pigs”, “Black Sabbath”, “Solitude”, “Laguna Sunrise” It is “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”with arrangements created by renowned Tony Award-winning conductor Christopher Austin.
In a press release, the director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Carlos Acostahighlighted the cultural importance of black Sabbath in the region, and how the idea of celebrating the hevay metal band through the presentation came about. “I was naturally drawn to the idea of a collaboration between what most people might think is the most unlikely of partners.
The band’s enthusiasm for the project is a huge endorsement. They [Black Sabbath] are putting their trust in us [Birmingham Royal Ballet] to deliver something completely new and original. Black Sabbath have always been innovative and never been predictable, and it doesn’t get more unpredictable than that.”
The show Black Sabbath: The Ballet will be shown from 23 to 30 September at Birmingham Racecourse in the United Kingdom. The dance institution also stated that new dates will be announced throughout the year.
