Review of ‘Diabolik’: The master of evil

The evil genius of the comic created by the Giussani sisters comes to the big screen.

One would have to be Italian to understand the risk taken by the Manettis by bringing a mythical role like ‘Diabolik’ to the screen. More considering the precedent of Mario Bava. This ‘Diabolik’ is the perfect translation in images of the Giussani sisters’ comic style and spirit, evoked with elegant aesthetics. static, with a slow and tense rhythm, uncompromising cruelty and an icy polar atmosphere. His Diabolik and Eva Kant, stupendous Luca Marinelli and Miriam Leone, steal and kill because they are beautiful and bad, but true. lovers of eurotrash we can’t ask for more

For ‘gourmets’ of a European comic-cinema at the aesthetic and moral antipodes of Marvel and DC
