HBO Max viewers Stairs You might be ready to jump to conclusions about what happened in the true crime at the center of the limited series, but star Sophie Turner doesn’t necessarily want to know about that.
The artist, whose project debuted on the streaming platform this Thursday, was invited tonight’s show Friday. During his visit, host Jimmy Fallon wanted to hear his thoughts on a fact-based story dedicated to Michael Peterson, a novelist accused of killing his wife, Kathleen.
Turner, who plays Michael’s daughter Margaret Ratliff, told Fallon she was a big fan of the 2004 French documentary on which the series is based. “It’s crazy,” Game of thrones Alum, 26, spoke about the document he discovered through Netflix in recent years. So about six months later I heard they were doing an HBO show about it and I said I signed up.
He went on to say that his series, which also stars Colin Firth, Tony Colette, Michael Stulberg, Dane Dehan, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Juliette Binoche, is a little different from the documentary’s narrative. “This show is about that, but it’s not about doing the same thing,” Turner explained. “It’s really about making a documentary, except for the work that’s going on, because there are layers and layers of corruption.”
When Fallon asked Turner if he had changed his mind about the real case while filming the project, he replied, “I’m done talking about what happened.” The actor noted that his show crew often discussed the events, adding, “Everyone had theories. I’ve been working on the theory for so long, and at this point I’ve already decided.”
Stairs It is currently running on HBO Max.
