Leader of the Foo Fighters took his own food truck to charity and worked as a volunteer in partnership with an NGO in Los Angeles
It’s not today Dave Grohl is reputed to be the nicest guy in rock. And one of his recent initiatives with the apron instead of the guitar just proves it.
the leader of foo fightersalso owner of a food truck called Backbeat BBQ, made herself available to cook last week for 450 homeless people assisted by the NGO Hope of the Valley, in Los Angeles, United States. Another 50 people participated in the event as employees and ate on the occasion. According to TMZ, the musician spent 16 hours preparing a menu that included ribs, sirloin cup, coleslaw and beans.
It took approximately 14 hours for the meats to cook, plus two hours to let them rest. grohl he even took a nap in the parking lot of the action site while waiting for the cuts to be ready so he could smoke.
In a publication on social networks, the CEO of hope of the valley, Rowan Vanslevereleased a video with grohl and, in the caption, declared: “In the midst of this week’s storms. This is Dave Grohl cooking more than 500 portions of the best barbecue for those who live in our shelters. That’s class.”

Dave Grohl Charitable Actions
On other occasions, Dave Grohl became directly involved with charitable actions as a cook. In 2018, he prepared a dinner for firefighters working in forest fires in Calabasas, also in the United States. A year later, he promoted a charity lunch with the widow of Ronnie James Dio, Wendy Diofor the benefit of the NGO Stand Up and Shout, responsible for assisting cancer patients. In 2021, he created a dish to be sold at the restaurant Casa Vegasfrom the San Francisco Valley, with proceeds going to the NGO No Us Without You LAwhich combats food insecurity.
