Director of the diptych on Elizabeth I of England brought by Cate Blanchett, Shekhar Kapur signs his first romantic comedy with And the love in all of this?. A feature film that deals with several complex subjects, which it deals with subtlety and avoiding an abundance of sentimentality.
The film tells the story of Zoe (Lily James), a documentary filmmaker who multiplies one-night stands, to the dismay of her rather pushy mother Cath (Emma Thompson). The heroine manages to get her producers to finance a new film centered around the arranged marriage of his childhood friend and neighbor Kaz (Shazad latif).
After questioning him about his approach and taking the testimonies of his relatives, he accompanies them to Pakistan for the ceremony. Thousands of kilometers from home and hours away from Kaz and Maymouna (Sajal Ali) union, Zoe understands thatshe feels more than friendship for the man she grew up with.

A genre that she thinks can be dangerous:
We really need to change these stories. Basically they are dangerous because they represent a world that doesn’t exist. You can’t have love like it’s shown in a rom-com for your whole life or during a 20-year relationship. Sure, we can tell these stories, but at the same time, like in this film, it’s very important to show reality.
