Everything everywhere all at once was the big surprise last year. Released on March 25, 2022 (June 28 in France), the film was a hit in US theaters, collecting more than $73 million in revenue only in the United States. An unexpected soundtrack for an independent film produced by A24 with a budget of 25 million dollars. It must be said that the feature film Daniels (Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan) brought a real breath of fresh air.
This sci-fi comedy-drama features a Chinese-American woman in conflict with her daughter and the US administration. As she grows increasingly overwhelmed, she discovers that her life is connected to a multitude of other lives she could have had. A true multiverse which threatens to be destroyed if it does not intervene.
Going to draw on different influences (mainly Matrix), Everything everywhere all at once it allows its directors to have a visual blast. And that has therefore convinced the public, but not only. Almost a year after its release, the film won seven Oscars including the prestigious Best film and best director. The cast also won Academy Awards for Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, and Best Supporting Actress for Jamie Lee Curtis.
