Britney Spears says she suffered a miscarriage: “This is a devastating time for any parent.”

Britney Spears had a miscarriage.

The singer publicly announced in an Instagram post on Saturday that he and fiancee Sam Asgar had a miscarriage. The news came after Spears announced she was pregnant and six months after the singer left the conservatory at age 13.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” Spears wrote. “This is a devastating time for any parent. We should probably wait for the revelation before we get there. However, we were very excited to share the good news.”

The statement went on to say, “Our love for each other is our strength,” acknowledging that the duo “continues to grow our wonderful family,” while noting that the couple is grateful for their support and wants privacy at this time.

Spears concludes her statement, which is made on behalf of her and Asgar, with the caption of an Instagram post. “We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family,” he wrote. “Thank you for your support.”

In response to the statement, Asgari replied, “We will soon have a miracle.”

Spears first said she was pregnant with her first child with Ashgar on April 11 in an anecdote that points to the couple’s vacation in Hawaii at the time. Asgari confirmed the news in an Instagram post the same day, writing, “Marriage and children are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I always yearn for and don’t take lightly. This is the most important work I will do.”

Spears and Asgar have been nominated since September 2021. The singer has two children, Jayden and Preston, from a relationship with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
