Avatar 3 and 4 are coming
If James Cameron took his time before offering us the long-awaited sequel toAvatars, the car is now well started! Indeed, after the release of The water way last December (which once again rocked the box office), the other sequels of the saga will follow at two-year intervals every December until 2028. Thereby, Avatars 3 is expected in our theaters in December 2024 and has already been filmed, simultaneously with the second work.

It will take place in part on volcanic areas of Pandora, where we will discover a new people called “the people of ashes”. These new Na’vi will not be as welcoming as the previously present tribes.
Avatar 4 will contain a time jump
The first part ofAvatars 4 has also already been filmed for a very specific reason, as producer Jon Landau recently confided (via ScreenRant):
When we were shooting Avatar 2, we were also shooting the 3 and the first act of the 4 (…) to be honest, there will be a time jump after the first act of the fourth film. We needed to film the children before they grew up.
Thus, as between the first and second film, there will be a ellipses of several years in the fourth work (while the third should take place immediately after the events of The water way). As previously revealed by James Cameron, Jake and Neytiri will no longer be central to the narrative of the other films. Indeed, it is Lo’ak, their youngest son, who will be the narrator of the third.
We can therefore think that he will also be the new hero of the rest of the saga, and that he could in turn start a family. Recall that the title ofAvatars 4 it should be The Tulkun Knight (the Tulkun Rider) and that Lo’ak formed a special relationship with one of these marine animals in the second film.
