It was one of the most painful moments of our entire career (…) we worked for two and a half years on 1899. You give yourself completely. When the series premieres, you feel like you can finally relax, breathe and celebrate. “That’s how I felt and, in a way, it ruined my whole experience. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve fully recovered,” she concludes. Friese.

After the accusations, 1899was canceled by Netflix on the grounds that it was too expensive and had not reached a relevant audience. The accusation took place in October last year, when the Brazilian artist Mary Cagnin pointed out in publications on Twitter, that the series carries several elements similar to Black Silencehis comics published in 2016.

Months after the end of 1899the couple is coming to Brazil from April 11th to 16th, for the Rio2C, in Rio de Janeiro, the creative and audiovisual market event that takes place in Cidade das Artes. Also to the newspaper O Globo, Odar and Friese talk about the expectation of meeting Brazilian fans of Dark.
