“Top 5 TV” Podcast: The Upfronts Wrap Edition

This week, Dan and I dedicated the entire episode, with the exception of the Critics’ Corner segment, of course, to the recently completed past performances. Historically, the premise was a week of bright, star-studded screenings, during which broadcasters provided their fall and mid-season programming to Madison Avenue ad buyers.

This year’s event, the first in-person gathering since COVID-19 hit the television industry, was far from typical as large conglomerates like Disney, Paramount Global, Warner Bros. Discovery and NBCUniversal decided to expand their large portfolios primarily with inbound broadcasts. As a follow-up opinion.

At the same time, the CW and Fox opted for a more traditional tone, none of their competitors’ portfolio types, although there was still a lot to scatter from both.

This is how the episode unfolds, although the conversation is, as Jeff Loeb would say, All related. (IYKYK!)
