The Idol premiere date revealed. The long-awaited HBO production arrives on June 4, 2022, simultaneously at 10 pm on HBO and HBO Max.
The series was produced by Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), which is also part of the cast, and Sam Levinsoncreator of the acclaimed euphoriaalso from the American television channel.
The author of the hit “Blinding Lights” plays a club owner and self-help guru who dates a pop star, played by Lily-Rose Depp. jenniefrom the k-pop group BLACKPINKalso participates in The Idol and will make her debut as an actress.
“After a nervous breakdown that destabilized the last tour of Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), she is determined to reclaim her status as America’s biggest and sexiest pop star. Her passion is rekindled by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub entrepreneur with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or to the darkest depths of her soul?” reads the synopsis.
