Welcome to the MCU, Deadpool!
In 2009, Ryan Reynolds and his Deadpool character made their first foray X-Men: Wolverine Origins. Unfortunately, the sauce doesn’t take why the essence of the anti-hero is absolutely not respected. We also think that the most talkative mercenary in the Marvel universe should never return to the big rooms. However, Ryan Reynolds is fighting hard to start a solo film that is much more respectful of the character.
This is how his wishes were fulfilled in 2016 with a totally crazy feature film: R rating in the US (a rarity for a superhero film), ultra gory sequences, foul language, a constantly broken 4th wall and permanent self-deprecation on the X-Men universe. Brief, Dead Pool tick all the boxes and wins at the box office. A success that leads to a second part two years later.

However, Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox disrupts the anti-hero’s potential sequels. In fact, following this acquisition, Marvel Studios can officially integrate the X-Men into its connected universe. However, what to do with a character like Deadpool? In fact, the politically incorrect side of him isn’t really compatible with the slick Marvel/Disney universe. However, the fans could be reassured: not only Dead Pool he will be entitled to a third film but his ultra-violent universe will not be rebooted or watered down. Ryan Reynolds will also be able to count on Hugh Jackman, who will camp the wild Wolverine again.
Which Wolverine in this third opus?
The main question fans have been asking since the Australian actor’s announcement in Dead Pool is this: Are we going to be dealing with the X-Men’s Wolverine movie timeline? As a reminder, the mutant finds death Logano. Hugh Jackman had also announced it which would be the last time he played the superhero.
However, she agreed to play her favorite character again. For what ? It should be remembered that during an interview with the radio Sirius-XMthe actor had declared that his return should not have upset the events of the saga X-Men as well as Wolverine’s death in Logano. Out of respect for the fans and out of a spirit of consistency, so he wanted the reason for his return to be related to the multiverse.

Asked by And CanadaRyan Reynolds also went along with his workmate stating that the Wolverine’s Deadpool 3 will differ significantly from that experienced between 2000 and 2017:
We’ve wanted this for decades. It’s strangely the ideal moment. I never stopped trying to get him back as Wolverine. I was harassing him like a gnat for the last few years (…) I think he was ready and excited. What we offered him was quite different from the character he knows that he has left behind. It gives him something completely new to play.
Since then, Hugh Jackman has been training very hard to regain the physical form of his mutant character:
The production of Deadpool 3 expected to start in May 2023, for a theatrical release on November 8, 2024.
