Alan Grant and Ellie Settler, played by Sam Neill and Laura Dern in “Jurassic Park,” are one of a number of film couples with a large age difference. The 19-year gap that their translators recently mentioned in an interview.
Despite the 19-year separation between their translators Sam Neal and Laura Dern, paleontologist Alan Grant and paleobotanist Eli Satler form a couple at the first Jurassic Park, released in 1993.
Although the (slightly turbulent) relationship shared by their characters is over and their paths are finally split, they will still return to the final part of the saga, Jurassic World: The World of After, in theaters from June 8th. .
A recent interview London Times, The two actors had the opportunity to look back at the memories of the filming and, in particular, the age difference that existed between them and their characters. A discrepancy that did not seem to be a problem for them at the time of filming:
“I am 20 years older than Laura! Which at the time was a perfectly appropriate age difference between the two main characters.“Said Sam Neal.
“(…) It never occurred to me until I opened the magazine and came across an article entitled “Old Roads and Girls” (“Old Roads and Girls”). Actors like Harrison Ford or Sean Connery who played with much younger actors. And I was on the list. I thought, “Come on! That cannot be the truth! “
Laura Dern, who describes this relationship as “Completely inappropriate” But who still explains that he found it “Completely relevant” Sam Neil says about his love for her at the time:
“Only now, when we return to the patriarchy during the cultural awakening, do I say, ‘Woe! “Aren’t we the same age?”
The two stars of Jurassic Park, who had already briefly found each other in 2001, in the third opus (where their characters were now distant) in a short sequence, will soon appear on the Jurassic World: The World of afterwards poster. With Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
