A reboot for Back to the Future ?
Believe having concluded their trilogy in an ideal way and after completing the time loop of the story of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd), director Robert Zemeckis and his co-writer Bob Gale have always balked at any idea of sequels, remakes or restart for Back to the Future. Asked by Telegram in 2015, the director – who owns the copyright of the franchise – said:
It won’t happen until Bob and I are dead. After that, I’m sure they will, there will be no stopping them. For me it is outrageous. Especially when it’s a good movie. It’s like saying, “Let’s do a remake of Citizen Kane. Who are we going to play Kane?” Crazy, why would we want to do that?

Asked by variety, Michael J. Fox has in turn spoken of a possible reboot of the cult saga without the original cast. The Marty McFly interpreter laconically dropped:
Do what you want. It’s your movie. I’ve already been paid.
So if he is not against this possible project with which he seems totally detached, the actor doesn’t think it’s a good idea. He added:
I think Bob (Zemeckis) and Bob (Gale) were very smart. I don’t think we need to revive the franchise. Is there anything to clarify? Will they find a better way to tell this story? I doubt.
And it is difficult to contradict this.
