Barbie: the event film of the summer with Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie
July 19, 2023 promises to be a blessed date for viewers across the globe. Indeed, it is on this day that two of the biggest films of the year will be released: Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan e Barbie by Greta Gerwig. Both have a luxurious cast, but it’s probably the latter that wins the Palma for the most glamorous cast showing Margot Robbie in the role of the legendary Barbie doll, and Ryan Gosling in the role of her faithful companion, Ken.
After spending their entire existence in the magical world of Barbieland, the two heroes will set off to discover the real world, in a feature film that promises to be a mixture of The Truman Show AND Wizard of Oz. Obviously, the film will have different levels of reading, and a strong feminist message should be present. As you may have understood, it will not be a film that will tell the story of the creation of the famous doll, but rather what it has represented through the generations.

Ryan Gosling responds to criticism of his casting
Ryan Gosling seems to be the perfect choice to take on Margot Robbie as Ken. However, since the announcement of his casting many criticisms have emerged against him, in particular due to his age (42 years), which for some would be too high. And the actor wanted to answer them in an interview with GQ magazine.
If people don’t want my Ken, that’s fine, there are plenty more! (…) still makes me laugh because no one has had anything to do with Ken until now and now it’s like people are fond of him! (…) If you were that fond of him, you would have realized that no one was fond of him, not even Barbie. Here the hypocrisy is exposed. This is why his story needs to be told
Ryan Gosling explained humorously, adding that he now felt protective of this character and wanted to make him proud.
