Christopher Nolan worked with Al Pacino in Insomnia (2002)
During filming of insomniareleased on August 16, 2002 in Brazilian theaters, Christopher Nolan was just a novice film director and even made a scene suggestion for Al Pacinointerpreter of Will Dormerbut the actor completely ignored it.
During an interview with The Los Angeles Times, the filmmaker commented on how he tried to solve a scene that did not work out very well. “I went to pacino after a series of takes and I gave him a note of what I wanted,” he recalled.
“He said to me, ‘I’ve already done this. You can’t see it with the naked eye, but I’ve done it in the papers. I looked it up and I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ because there it was,” Nolan continued. “Great movie actors can do that, and that’s what I had with Cillian [Murphy, estrela de Oppenheimer, de 2023].”
