Succession received 27 Emmy nominations this year
Succession leads the Emmy Awards this year, with 27 nominations in the award. To remember the incredible power struggle of Waystar Royco, we selected some of the best moments of the narrative:
Logan’s death (or Connor’s wedding)
The death of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) takes place in the third episode of the fourth and final season, which may have seemed a little early for fans and sparked even more interest in what the show’s outcome would be. During the long shot scene, which lasted about 30 minutes, the viewer is able to experience the same anguish as Shiv (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin) It is Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong)without the certainty that death is real.
The script reconstructs the shock of when we see someone well and days or hours later that person dies suddenly. The phone conversation with the unconscious father further emulates the feeling that both Logan’s children and we don’t know how to say goodbye to the character.
It is worth remembering that everything occurs during the marriage of Connor (Alan Ruck), who seems the least emotional of all the brothers. O Los Angeles Times published an obituary for Logan Roy.

Roman’s speech
From Logan’s death onwards, the narrative takes place at the same time that Shiv, Roman and Kendall act on the plan to acquire Waystar Royco by GoJo, from the Norwegian Lukas Mattson (Alexander Skarsgard).
Shiv takes 20 minutes out of the day to grieve, while Roman breaks down only at his father’s funeral, when he tries to speak. “Is he in there?,” asks Kieran Culkin’s character, pointing to the coffin. “Can we get him out of there?.” The brothers welcome him and we see the surprise on the faces of the others present at the funeral, including Caroline Collinwood (Harriet Walter). Roman’s mother is unmoved by her son’s suffering.
Caroline, Marcia RoyHiam Abbass, Kerry Castellabate (Zöe Winter) It is Sally-Anne (Nicole Ansari-Cox) – Brian Cox’s real-life wife), make up a panel of Logan’s ex-wives at the wake.
Car accident
Since the first season, Kendall has been creating plans to take over Waystar. It is in this context that a car accident happens on Shiv’s wedding day and Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen).
Kendall fetches drugs and chats with a waiter at the party. They drive to the drug dealer together, with Kendall drunk driving the car. When frightened by an animal on the track, he causes an accident, plunging the vehicle into a lake. Jeremy Strong’s character tries to save the boy in vain. At that moment, everything changes because Kendall needs Logan’s help to cover up the crime.

Cruise Scandal – Who Takes the Blame?
On the same wedding night, Shiv proposes an open relationship to Tom. The line causes one of several rifts in the couple’s relationship and seems even more cruel on that occasion. Later, at the end of the second season, Wambsgans returns to the subject as one of the arguments that demonstrate Shiv’s coldness.
A scandal involving cases of rape and death on the company’s cruises, which uses the term “no real person involved” (“no real person involved”, in free translation) for the victims, comes to light. Seeking stability, Tom offers to take responsibility for the crimes, and even eats a piece of chicken from Logan’s plate.

However, Shiv tries to convey credibility of her love for her husband and asks her father not to put him on the fire again. Kendall, then – totally submissive to Logan – must play this role, but develops another twist when he blames his own father in a press conference. The CEO of Waystar Royco has a light and bittersweet smile when he sees the scene on television.
US president
Shiv Roy sides with Lukas Mattson in the race to buy Waystar, while Roman and Kendall want to keep the business in the family. Therefore, the two brothers announce Jerry Mencken (Justin Kirk) as the new president of the United States, in the expectation that he blocks the acquisition by GoJo. The politician, however, has fascist tendencies and mainly scares the ex-wife and children of Kendall Roy.
Shiv had a career in politics before turning to winning a seat at Waystar, and he supported the Democrat Daniel Jimenez (Elliot Villar).

Ending – Eldest Son’s Disappointment, Roman’s Freedom, and Shiv as His Wife
The brothers relive their childhood in one of their mother’s houses. Shiv and Roman cede the CEO position to Kendall, crowning the choice with a milkshake whose recipe included eggs, pickles, bread and even Sarah Snook’s spit.
Seeing the characters out of formal wear and into a much more colorful setting, however, doesn’t lead to a happy ending for everyone. At the meeting that decides whether or not Waystar Royco will be bought by Mattson, Shiv takes the tie-breaking vote. The three brothers gather in a separate room to understand what has changed in Logan’s youngest daughter’s opinion. Shiv admits not being able to see Kendall in power and finally votes for the sale of the company.
I’m the eldest son! – Kendall

Before that, in the same season (the fourth), Tom and his wife think about divorce and start a cold war involving lawyers and unexpected gifts. The two have one of the most heated arguments of the series.
I don’t think you should have married me at all, really. – Tom to Shiv
Shiv shoots back, “You’re only with me to get to power. You’ve already done it,” but her husband says he’s with her because he loves her. Tom Wambsgans is the CEO of Mattson’s new company. The position is promised to the character several times during her career, but she always stays in the shadow of other men. The ending doesn’t show a different perspective than this, taking into account that Shiv becomes the wife of the CEO and is expecting his child. The image is totally different from what she planned.
Roman seems content with his fate, breaking free from the filth surrounding Logan and the conglomerate. Kendall appears to leave the body. The slow, uncertain walk to a bench suggests that the character is going to commit suicide, but he just sits down in a confused, sad, incredulous gesture.
Boar on the floor
On a trip to Hungary, in the second season, Logan Roy has company employees and family members play boar on the foor (boar on the ground, in free translation). The characters imitate pigs on all fours and eat sausages as Logan tries to get the truth out of them.
Kendall rap
Also in the second season of Succession, Jeremy Strong stars in one of the most iconic scenes in the series: the rap in honor of his father. The composition of Nicholas Britell it was recorded by the time Strong took the stage. The actor looks like he wants to laugh as he sings. Check out “L to the OG”:
