Netflix: last chance to (re)watch this vampire film with Josh Hartnett

A very angry vampire movie

Released in cinemas in 2007, 30 days of night by David Slade has an attractive cast and a good idea. There we find, among others, talents such as Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, Danny Huston and Ben Foster. It all begins in Alaska, in the small town of Barrow. He and his inhabitants are preparing, like every year, to spend a month without the sun. A “foreigner” – this is his name – then disembarks from a ship and sabotages the city’s means of communication with the outside world. In the evening, bloodthirsty creatures, very lively vampires with great physical strengthsacked Barrow and massacred its population.

The town sheriff, Eben Oleson (Josh Hartnett), his wife Stella (Melissa George) and her brother, Jake (Mark Rendall), take refuge in the attic of a house. Two weeks later, taking advantage of a day when the weather was “milky”, with a clear sky, they finally left their refuge…

Small film that has become a cult

Reviews of the film are mixed, but despite some inconsistencies in the screenplay, it is recognized as a careful production and rather inspired casting.
