Foo Fighters Announces Preliminary List of Guest Superstars for Taylor Hawkins Honors Shows

The initial guest list for the London edition of the Taylor Hawkins Memorial Concert will feature a long list of artists who were northern stars in the music business of the late Foo Fighters drummer.

The band announced the first band of musicians to perform at London’s Wembley Stadium on the morning of September 3 and will include former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, Rush’s Gaddy Lee and Alex Lipson, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, ex-cops. . With the consent of the Hawkins family, the band announced that they will be holding a two-star event honoring the drummer who passed away at age 50 on March 25 in Bogotá, Colombia, in a hotel room while on tour with Foos. . The schedule for the second show will be announced shortly, on September 27 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles; Tickets for both are scheduled to go on sale Friday at 9 am local time.

Other cast members from the London show include Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Cheney, contenders Chris Hind, Wolfgang van Helen, jazz drummer Omar Hakim and members of Hawkins’ hard rock band Chevy Metal Special. The shows will be donated to charities in the US and UK selected by the Hawkins family, with recipients to be announced shortly.

In a statement at last week’s show, Hawkins’ widow Alison Hawkins thanked the band’s global fans for their support and love following the shocking death of her husband. “I express my deepest gratitude and admiration to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans for the love each of you have shown for our beloved Taylor,” the Hawkins family said in a statement. “Her kindness of hers has been an invaluable comfort to me and my family during this incredible pain.”

He continued: “Taylor’s engaging spirit and deep love for music will live on forever in collaboration with other musicians and in the catalog of music she contributed and created. To celebrate his life, it’s now up to us, those he loves most, to honor Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.
