Don’t miss the new Miyazaki e on November 1st Collection by Bellocchio
If for the week of October 25th we mainly chose comedies, for the week of November 1st the tone is more dramatic. Indeed, with the release of the new filmHayao Miyazaki, The boy and the heron, viewers will have the opportunity to discover a sublime, touching and fundamental work in its author’s career. Because by telling the story of Mahito, a boy who searches for his mother and discovers a fantastic world, the famous director also talks about legacyof what he leaves behind and the troubled world left to younger generations and to his nephew. There is no doubt that the animated film will be this week’s event (see our review).

We also recommend the historical drama this week Collection of the Italian director Marco Bellocchio. This time it is about the Catholic Church and the kidnapping of Edgardo MortaraJewish child from Bologna, in 1858, when he was only six years old. A true story and whose manager is none other than Pope Pius IX (1792-1878). What emerges is a remarkable film, a heartbreaking family drama and a fascinating historical glimpse (see our review). And to learn more about the filmmaker there is also the documentary Marx can waitin which Marco Bellocchio reflects on the death of his twin brother at the age of 29.
A small comedy is also planned
From foreign dramas we move on to French dramas. First with Margherita’s theorem, in which Ella Rumpf goes from studying math to playing mahjong. Then with Flodirected by Géraldine Danon and starring Stéphane Caillard the navigator Florence Arthaud. A magnificent portrait of a sunny heroine (see our opinion), which however had been criticized by those close to Florence Arthaud.

Finally, the week of November 1st still contains some lighter films. Great comedy with Priceless by Eric Fraticelli with Didier Bourdon. The dramatic comedy Mr Mayor with Clovis Cornillac, mayor of a small village who tries to take in a single mother in difficult circumstances. But more than these two films, we would be inclined to orient ourselves more Completely broken!with John Malkovich as the butler and Fanny Ardant as the landlady. An intriguing base.
